Based on advice from the Hawkesbury Hornets BMX Club that a member of the public with COVID-19 attended the BMX Facility at Colbee Park, Bismarck Street, Vineyard the Hawkesbury Sports Council will organise a deep cleansing at the BMX Facility.
The BMX Facility is currently closed until further notice.

LIGHTS ON at 6 of Councils most popular sportsgrounds.
Every evening for the next eight days, Council will be switching on the lights at four of our most popular sportsgrounds from 5.30pm to 8.30pm to enable residents to get out and be active individually or as a family in a COVID-safe way:

From today, Friday, 29 January 2021, the wearing of face masks is now optional if you are visiting an indoor Council facility. The wearing of face masks continues to be fully supported by Council and we will continue to make face masks available to our staff and visitors.

As face masks are now mandatory for most indoor premises across Greater Sydney, which includes the Hawkesbury, Council is encouraging our community to:
Wear a face mask if you are visiting our indoor public spaces (there are exemptions for children under 12 and those with a health condition)
When visiting our facilities, check in using the Service NSW QR code
Practice social distancing, with a distance of 1.5 metres between yourself and others
If you have even the mildest systems, get tested and stay at home so you do not expose others to illness
Do your business over the phone by contacting our Customer Service Centre on 4560 4444.

Based on the NSW Government's current health guidelines, wearing face masks is now mandatory in various indoors settings, excluding homes, as per the Public Health Order 2021 (COVID-19 Mandatory Face Coverings) under the Public Health Act 2010.
In keeping with the Public Health Order, Hawkesbury City Council is encouraging visitors over the age of 12 to wear a mask when using indoor Council facilities. This includes Council’s Administration Building, Libraries, Hawkesbury Visitor Information Centre, Hawkesbury Regional Art Gallery, Hawkesbury Regional Museum, Hawkesbury Companion Animal Shelter and other indoor facilities.
Please consider others in our community when using community spaces and limit your time so that everyone can have an opportunity for access. To help protect our community:
- please practice social distancing, with a distance of 1.5 metres between yourself and others
- practice good hygiene guidelines, including correct handwashing of 20 seconds
- stay home if you are sick and do not expose others to illness.
Remember to get tested and self isolate with even the mildest of symptoms, or if you have attended a venue listed by the NSW Government as a COVID-19 case location, or you have been in contact with someone else who has been to a COVID-19 case location.
To protect the community from COVID-19, rules and restrictions apply to the Greater Sydney region (which includes the Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains), the Central Coast and Wollongong. Some important information from
NSW Health
which relates to all of the Hawkesbury Local Government Area.
Due to the growing risk from the Avalon outbreak, new restrictions were introduced for Greater Sydney from midnight last night to reduce the risk of further community transmission. These include:
Household gatherings are limited to 10 visitors (until 11.59pm on Wednesday 23 December).
The one person per four square metre rule is being re-introduced for all indoor settings, including hospitality venues and places of worship.
A cap of 300 people will apply for hospitality venues and places of worship.
Singing in indoor venues will now be restricted, returning to a maximum of five performers indoors, provided they are 1.5m from one another and at least 5m from the audience who are not allowed to sing along.
Dancefloors will not be permitted, except for weddings, when a maximum of 20 from the wedding party will be permitted.
For the purposes of the Order, ‘Greater Sydney’ comprises the following local government areas: Bayside, Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Burwood, Camden, Campbelltown, Canada Bay, Canterbury-Bankstown, Central Coast, Cumberland, Fairfield, Georges River, Hawkesbury, Hornsby, Hunters Hill, Inner West, Ku-ring-gai, Lane Cove, Liverpool, Mosman, North Sydney, Northern Beaches, Parramatta, Penrith, Randwick, Ryde, Strathfield, Sutherland Shire, Sydney, The Hills Shire, Waverley, Willoughby, Wollondilly, Wollongong and Woollahra.
People in Greater Sydney are also urged not to visit residential aged care facilities, disability services or vulnerable people unless it is critical. This advice will be re-assessed on Wednesday 23 December.
People across Greater Sydney are also advised to wear masks in indoor settings such as shops and hospitality venues, in line with advice already issued to those in the Northern Beaches.

People in The Hawkesbury are being called on to come forward for testing if they have any COVID-19 symptoms after the state’s sewage surveillance program detected fragments of the virus at the North Richmond treatment plant.
Virus fragments in sewage can mean that there are active cases in the catchment area, but people can continue to ‘shed’ virus genetic material for some weeks after recovery.
If you have symptoms such as a runny nose, cough, sore or scratchy throat, fever, loss of smell or taste, or shortness of breath, please get tested as soon as possible and isolate at home until you get the result.
There are free COVID-19 Clinics across the region including local drive-through clinics operating at Hawkesbury Showgrounds in Clarendon, the Sydney International Regatta Centre at Cranebrook and Koolyangarra Aboriginal Child & Family Centre, Cranebrook.
There is also a free GP-led Respiratory Clinic in Windsor which is available by appointment.
