The Hawkesbury's much-loved Oasis Aquatic and Leisure Centre has received funding for proposed upgrades to expand upon the current centre and provide overall better amenities for patrons.
The Oasis Aquatic and Leisure Centre is a high use facility, providing sport, fitness and leisure services for the local government area and surrounding districts.
Community feedback on the proposed inclusions at Oasis Aquatic and Leisure Centre were received during community consultation conducted in April 2024 and this feedback has been reviewed and considered to inform the proposed concept design. The priorities of the community have informed the inclusions in the concept designs and are listed below. To view the proposed inclusions, please click HERE. Under the current funding allocation, Council is progressing to construction of the following elements:
A new children’s splash pad
Additional car parking
New and upgraded amenities to support school and event use
A covered deck connecting key outdoor areas (subject to final affordability at tender)
These elements respond directly to community priorities and will improve safety, accessibility and overall amenity at the centre.
Other elements of the original concept, including a new program pool and outdoor gym, are not funded for construction at this time. Council will continue to progress design work for these components so they are ready to be delivered in the future should additional funding become available.
The Oasis Aquatic and Leisure Centre Improvements is proudly funded by the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program.

Council endorsed the concept plans for the OALC project and endorsed a project staging plan which:
(a) delivers the detailed design for the project with staging incorporated for staged delivery.
(b) delivers construction of key elements: school-age amenities, a splash park, car park and certain compliance upgrades.
(c) optionally includes a covered deck structure, subject to satisfactory tender responses.
The procurement strategy for the OALC project will be revised to decouple it from the Richmond Swimming Centre project. Council will explore further opportunities as they arise to secure external funding to bolster the project delivery.
