Waste Services Survey Insights 2022

Thank you for completing Council’s Waste Services Survey between 24 January to 28 February 2022. The Waste Services Survey provided Council with the opportunity to receive community feedback about its waste services, what changes the community want to see and what services they want in the future.

Council received an excellent response from residents with 1,980 survey responses from online and hard copy submissions.

Some key insights were:

  • 65.5% of residents were very satisfied or satisfied with the current bin collection service,
  • 60% of residents want a balance between the lowest cost and best sustainability outcome,
  • 60.5% of residents want to see changes to the bulky waste clean up service but do not want any increase in cost.

Feedback received from the community will inform the development of the Draft Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy, the new waste collection contracts, and the future waste services Council provides.

The next stage in the process involves the Draft Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy being reported to Council. When this occurs, you will be notified and invited to make a submission while the Draft Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy is on exhibition.
