Draft Volunteer Management Framework
Volunteers play a vital role in our community. They contribute to sport, welfare, the environment, culture and education.
Within Hawkesbury City Council, our own volunteer network is essential to ensuring our library, museum, gallery, Bushcare program and Community Nursery operate for the community. Their dedication brings services to life and strengthens the spirit of the Hawkesbury.
Hawkesbury City Council has worked to develop a Volunteer Management Framework to strengthen and support Council's current and future volunteers. The draft Volunteer Management Framework was presented to Council on Tuesday, 12 May where it was endorsed to proceed to public exhibition to allow for community review and feedback on the framework.
The draft Volunteer Management Framework consists of three core documents designed to work in unison to provide a robust, compliant and supportive environment for Council’s Volunteer base. These three documents are;
- Draft Volunteer and Community Representatives Policy: This Policy establishes a consistent, high-quality to the recruiting, training and managing volunteers across all Council activities.
- Draft Code of Conduct - Volunteers and Community Representatives: This Policy ensures volunteers commit to Council’s ethical standards of integrity, honesty and fairness. The Policy offers a concise, relevant set of standards tailored specifically to the volunteer experience.
- Draft Volunteer Strategy: The draft Volunteer strategy establishes a best-practice roadmap to ensure a clear and consistent approach to volunteer engagement and growth moving forward
