McMahon Park Playground and Fitness Upgrade

Community feedback is open from 24 February to 15 March 2026.

Council, in partnership with the McMahon Park Committee, has prepared concept designs for a new playground and fitness upgrade at McMahon Park, Kurrajong. We invite you to review the designs and tell us what you think.

What’s Proposed

Playground equipment:

  • Swing set (standard, infant, “you and me”, and pod seats)
  • Mouse House – rolling drum
  • Balance rope course (ages 1+)
  • Junior Play Structure (ages 1–3) with slide, tunnel and play panels
  • Senior Play Structure (ages 5–12) – two options for the community to choose from

Option 1 – Playhouses

  • Two elevated playhouses
  • 2.5 m slide (plastic or steel)
  • High balance course, climbing elements, fire pole

Option 2 – Rope Eagles Nest

  • Rope climbing structure
  • 1.8 m wave slide
  • Four elevated rope baskets

Shade, Landscaping & Facilities

  • Three new shade trees for the Senior Play Structure
  • Existing trees shade remaining equipment
  • One new picnic setting (plus two existing)
  • New connecting paths and link to existing picnic shelter

Fitness Stations

  • Dynamic fitness station near the picnic shelter
  • Static fitness station near the cricket nets
