  • Business Bounce Back Mentoring Program for Hawkesbury Tourism Businesses

    Hawkesbury City Council are pleased to launch a tailored mentoring program to registered tourism businesses in the Hawkesbury. The program works one on one with businesses affected by recent events of bushfires, floods and COVID-19, to get them back on track with business tools to withstand crises in the future.

    Ruth and Brian Schembri from Blueberry Hills on Comleroy Bed and Breakfast have recently signed up for the program. The Mayor came out to chat about the significant impact that the bushfires and COVID-19 has had on their business in the last 6 months and ways that this program will assist them.

    Rescue and restart package for not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations

    Funding will be available to NSW not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations assessed as being in financial distress across NSW on a case-by-case basis, in a new $50 million package announced by NSW Government.

    The Rescue and Restart package will be delivered in two stages:

    • Funding available now to enable NSW not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations to hibernate temporarily.
    • Funding available in the coming months to enable NSW not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations to restart operations after the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Expressions of interest are open for the Western Sydney Advisory Group Small Business Mentoring Program. This 2 month program has been developed to encourage and assist local small business owners who want to grow and strengthen their business. This is also the perfect opportunity for those wanting to start their own business.

    This is ideal for small businesses owned in various industries including (but not limited to) those in the trades, retail, professional services or home based businesses. This 2 month online program includes:

    • 5 experienced mentors
    • 6 one hour group webinars covering the all-important areas of business strategy, marketing, social media, public relations, sales and finance
    • Weekly group mentoring sessions via Zoom
    • Private Facebook group dedicated to the program to encourage discussions, questions and connections with each other.
    • Mentors will also be available to answer questions in their area of expertise

    This program is fully subsidised by the Hawkesbury City Council. There is no cost to the business owners.

    Criteria:

    • Your business must be based in the Hawkesbury City Council LGA.
    • Commitment to 2 hours a week to the program.
    • If you are interested in being a part of our 2 month mentoring program please submit an expression of interest form.

    We would like to introduce to the business community a pilot mentoring program called Business Bounce Back.

    Businesses in Hawkesbury, have undergone significant stress in recent months with bushfires, floods and now COVID-19.

    We can appreciate that there are many moving parts that need to be considered right now that the thought of planning for the future may be difficult.

    Hawkesbury City Council as part of its business recovery support has developed in conjunction with business consultants and mentors, Sparrowly Group, a dedicated mentoring program to support your business through these times and help you prepare for the bounce back.

    We are starting this by implementing a pilot mentoring program called Business Bounce Back which is free to tourism businesses in the Hawkesbury region to participate.

    The intention is to expand this program over the coming months. This is a free program funded by Hawkesbury City Council.

    The Business Bounce Back program consists of 6 key parts.
