Fernadell Park in Pitt Town will receive a redevelopment in line with the Masterplan, adopted by Council following community consultation.

The park will provide the growing Pitt Town community and surrounds with much-needed passive and active recreation space.

The works include:

  • Integrated facilities for Soccer and Cricket along with cricket practice nets.
  • Modified sports field/ event space
  • New multi-purpose courts for Netball and Basketball
  • New Amenities building with canteen, public accessible toilets and change rooms facilities suitable for female and male players
  • Kiosk/equipment storage facilities
  • Multi age play area with shade sails for Children
  • Outdoor Fitness facilities
  • Accessibility pathways connectivity

  • Ample off-street and on-grade parking space
  • Shelters with barbecue facilities and picnic areas
  • Integrated Community Centre (DA approved and construction tender released)

Contract Awarded and Construction Commencing

Construction of the sports precinct at Fernadell Park will commence on Thursday, 15 May 2025. The contract for the works has been awarded to WEM Civil. WEM Civil will take possession of the site from Monday, 05 May for site establishment purposes and works will commence from the 15 May, weather permitting. The entire precinct is anticipated to be completed by 30 June 2027, weather permitting.

The project will be delivered in the following four stages:

Stage 1 - Preliminary Infrastructure Works

Stage 2 - Landscape, Sports Field and Amenities Block

Stage 3 - Community Centre and Play Area (Contract still to be awarded)

Stage 4 - Remaining facilities and general landscape works

Anticipated project completion: 30 June 2027, weather permitting.

The Fernadell Park Redevelopment is funded through the Australian Government's Thriving Suburbs Grant, the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program and the Multi-Sport Community Facility Fund with contribution from Hawkesbury City Council.

    Fernadell Park and Community Centre Project is being delivered by Council as part of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Project.

    Submissions on the proposed names are invited and will be received by Council until 5pm Wednesday, 29 July 2026. Submissions should be addressed to the General Manager and can be:

    2. Email council@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au
    3. Online submission via this website.
