Hawkesbury City Council has prepared a draft concept masterplan for Brinsley Park, Pitt Town and is seeking community feedback on the proposed future vision for the reserve. The masterplan aims to improve recreation opportunities, accessibility, connectivity, safety, landscaping and sporting facilities while preserving the park's important role as a community sporting and gathering space.

The concept masterplan includes potential future improvements such as:

  • A new formalised car park with accessible parking spaces and improved pedestrian connections.
  • New picnic shelters, seating areas and community gathering spaces.
  • Additional shade trees, landscaping and native planting throughout the reserve.
  • New walking paths connecting Somerset Street, Wellesley Street and Buckridge Street.
  • Outdoor exercise stations and improved passive recreation opportunities.
  • Upgraded sports field facilities, cricket nets, lighting and associated infrastructure.
  • Improvements to the Rex Stubbs Memorial and park entry experience.

Purpose of this Consultation

Council is seeking feedback on the overall vision and proposed improvements identified within the concept masterplan. This consultation is intended to:

  • Inform the community about the proposed long-term vision for Brinsley Park.
  • Understand community priorities for future improvements.
  • Gather feedback on the proposed facilities, landscaping and recreational opportunities.
  • Identify any opportunities or issues Council should consider during future design development.
Submissions open Monday, 20 July 2026.
Submissions close Sunday 16 August 2026.

The masterplan and supporting images are conceptual only and have been prepared to guide the future development of Brinsley Park. The concept is subject to ongoing design development, technical investigations, statutory approvals and funding availability. Construction funding has not yet been secured, and implementation of the masterplan is expected to occur in stages as funding becomes available

Should you lodge a submission, it will be considered, along with any other submissions received and may be included in Council’s meeting business paper. Information contained in submission may, at the discretion of Hawkesbury City Council, be referred to the person (s) who initiated the proposal for appropriate consideration. Your submission, including any personal information, is accessible by any person upon written application, subject to Council’s Privacy Management Plan and the Government Information (Public Access) Act, 2009. The inclusion of personal information in your submission is voluntary but, if not provided, may affect consideration of the submission. The information will ultimately be stored in Council’s records system.
