Closure of Parks and Playgrounds

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement from yesterday, our playgrounds and parks are now CLOSED. This includes all public playgrounds, skate parks, outside gym equipment and BBQ's facilities in our parks.

Our staff will be placing signage up in these locations over the coming days.

If you have any concerns on breaches to the current public health orders, please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 as the Police are responsible for enforcing these laws.

Other changes from the recent announcement is a recommendation that people aged 70 and over and those over 60 with chronic illness and indigenous people over 50 are urged to stay at home and self-isolate.

There is also new restrictions on gatherings with numbers now limited to two people, this measure has been introduced to slow the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19)
