Hawkesbury City Council is developing its first Resilience Plan, Resilient Hawkesbury 2030, to develop a vision and strategies for building a resilient community that is well connected, prepared for emergencies and change.

The Resilience Plan will enable the Hawkesbury to be a city that can prepare for and adapt to shocks and stresses and recover and thrive into the future.

Council will undertake community and stakeholder consultation over the coming month to inform the development of the Resilience Plan. The consultation process will help to identify our strengths as a community, our vulnerabilities to shocks and stressors and priorities

This consultation aims to encompass all factors that impact resilience, including;

  • Chronic stresses that are ongoing and felt on a day-to-day basis, often with long term effects. Examples include inequality, effects of climate change, lack of social cohesion and inadequate public transport
  • Acute shocks that are sudden, sharp events and may threaten an area or the city . Examples include heatwave, bushfire, flood and infectious disease outbreaks.

This survey will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
