Hawkesbury City Council plans to upgrade the playground within the park on Susella Crescent, North Richmond within the next couple of years and is seeking input from the community to inform the design of the park and new play space.
The park is a small 0.62 ha local park located at 21A Susella Crescent adjacent to Redbank Creek. It currently contains a climbing structure, multi-unit play structure, spinner and double swings.
Please help Council plan the new design by providing information on how you currently use the park and how you might like to use it in future. The survey form can be found here.
It is proposed to replace the existing playground with a new play space for children 1-12 years old. Design elements under consideration include new play equipment, shade, seats, and a pathway connection from Susella Crescent. The softfall will be a combination of mulch with rubber in key wear areas.
The playground will be designed to:
improve access and circulation into and throughout the park.
improve site identification and wayfinding using Council’s new suite of signage.
improve the provision of shade, reducing user’s exposure to UV radiation and contributing to a cooler environment.
improve image and character of the park.
improve amenity, safety, and equity.
minimise future maintenance burden.
minimise potential impact on neighbouring residents.
