Hawkesbury City Council, in accordance with Council’s Community Engagement Policy, the NSW Address Policy and User Manual, and by Council resolution dated 3 February 2026, is seeking public comment regarding the naming of two sporting (cricket) ovals located within Peel Park (92a Pecks Road, North Richmond) as “The Allan Carver Oval” and “The John Wellington Oval”.


Currently, the ovals located within Peel Park, 92a Pecks Road, North Richmond are named as The John Wellington Oval #1 and The John Wellington Oval #2.

The names proposed for the Ovals have been recommended to acknowledge both John Wellington and Allan Carver’s shared vision, service and dedication to the advancement of cricket in North Richmond and the Hawkesbury.

Submissions on the proposed names are invited and will be received by Council until 5pm Friday, 13 March 2026.


Submissions can be made online below or by click HERE.


Written submissions should be addressed to the General Manager and can be mailed to PO Box 146, Windsor NSW 2756, or emailed to council@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au up to 5pm Friday, 13 March 2026.


Should you lodge a submission, it will be considered, along with any other submissions received and may be included in Council’s meeting business paper. Information contained in submission may, at the discretion of Hawkesbury City Council, be referred to the person(s) who initiated the proposal for appropriate consideration. Your submission, including any personal information, is accessible by any person upon written application, subject to Council’s Privacy Management Plan and the Government Information (Public Access) Act, 2009. The inclusion of personal information in your submission is voluntary but, if not provided, may affect consideration of the submission. The information will ultimately be stored in Council’s records system.
