Peppercorn Recovery Support Services offer individual support to strengthen the capacity, over time, of the flood impacted people of our community by facilitating and working with clients to engage with services, seek financial assistance and information and when needed navigate the range of services available. Call 4587 0225 or email rss@peppercorn.org.au to speak with a Recovery Support Worker.

The Department of Primary Industries (DPI) and Local Land Services (LLS) provide assistance to landholders and communities with animal welfare-related issues resulting from the floods.
  • For help with Insurance if you are not sure of your insurance details or have general inquiries about the claims process you can call the Insurance Council of Australia’s Disaster Hotline on 1800 734 621.

    Join in for a FREE half day workshop to assist with pasture and fodder flood recovery from 9.30am to 12 Noon.
    Located at the Greater Sydney LLS Demo Farm, 40 Edwards Road, Richmond Lowlands.
    You will hear from a Technical Specialist in pastures and forage to learn about:
    the pastures that might survive a flood
    the differences between Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter floods
    replanting- how, when and what to plant?
    how to sow- seeding rates and fertilizer
    weeds after a flood
    cautions for pasture improvement
    using and buying hay or silage after a flood

  • ATTENTION - Flood Affected Firearm Licence Holders - 7/4/21

    A message from Hawkesbury Police Area Command - On Saturday 10th April 2021, between 8am and 3pm, Hawkesbury Police will be accepting firearms and ammunition damaged by the floods for destruction at Windsor Police Station, 13 Mileham Street, Windsor.
    If you have had to move your firearms due to the floods, please ensure you notify the Firearms Registry of the new safe storage location.
    If you have any inquiries regarding the arrangements put in place this Saturday 10th April, please contact Windsor Police Station on 4587 4099 and ask to speak with the Licensing Officer, Senior Constable BLUE.

    As the flood waters subside, we are left with a lot of devastation throughout the Hawkesbury. Here are only a few images of the task at hand.

    If your property was flood affected and you requested a skip bin which is now full and ready for collection, please let us know by logging a request for pick up here www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/…/forms/local-emergency-management

    We understand that there are residents who have logged a request for a skip bin to be delivered to their property and it hasn't arrived yet. With more than 4500 affected properties and 600 bins out in the community, we are continuing to work on these requests and ask that you please be patient during this difficult time.
