Have your say on the Naming Proposal for Fernadell Park and Community Centre

Council resolved at its Meeting on 2 June 2026 to publicly exhibit the proposed names for the park and the Community Centre being delivered through the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants (WSIG) in Pitt Town.

Notice is hereby given that Hawkesbury City Council, in accordance with the Geographical Names Act 1966, seek public comment on the proposed naming of the Park and the Community Centre located at 48 Bootles Lane, Pitt Town.

The proposal includes formally naming the site as Fernadell Park and the building as the Pitt Town Community Centre.

The proposed name Fernadell Park reflects the name that local residents have used and recognised for many years. Formalising this name acknowledges the area's established identity, preserves local history, and ensures consistency in future references, signage, and Council records. The proposed building name, Pitt Town Community Centre, aligns with Council's established naming conventions, which typically identify community facilities by their suburb or locality.

Further information regarding the proposed names can be found in the Council report and resolution available within the Business Papers on Council’s website: www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au

Fernadell Park and Community Centre Project is being delivered by Council as part of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Project.
