The current Naming of Roads and Places Policy was adopted by Council at its meeting on 22 November 2022 and provides guidance in respect to the naming of suburbs, roads, parks and reserves, buildings and other locations such as gardens, car parks and open spaces.
The policy has undergone the review process to ensure that it is still compliant and relevant to Council's naming activities.
At the Council meeting on 21 July 2026, Council resolved to place the revised Naming of Roads and Places Policy on public exhibition for a period of 28 days to allow the community to review the document and Have Your Say.
