Under the Local Government Act 1993, Council is required to review and adopt its Code of Meeting Practice within 12 months of the commencement of each term of Council. Council undertook this process and sought public submissions on its Draft Code of Meeting Practice during July and August 2025.

In late August 2025, the Office of Local Government released a new 2025 Model Meeting Code and Councils are required to adopt a new Code of Meeting Practice that contains the provisions of the 2025 Model Meeting Code.

At its meeting on 14 October 2025, Council resolved to place the updated Draft Code of Meeting Practice on public exhibition for a period of 28 days and accept submissions from interested parties for a period of up to 42 days.

Council’s Draft Code of Meeting Practice will be available for view and comment by:

  • Visiting Council’s website www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au via the Have Your Say tab
  • Following the link www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au
  • Visiting Council’s Administration Building between 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday at 366 George Street, Windsor from Monday, 20 October 2025 to Sunday, 30 November 2025.

If you would like to make a submission, please quote Reference: ‘Draft Code of Meeting Practice’.

Submissions may be made by:

Council will consider all submissions received at a subsequent Council Meeting.

Should you lodge a submission, it will be considered, along with any other submissions received and may be included in Council’s meeting business paper. Your submission, including any personal information, is accessible by any person upon written application, subject to Council’s Privacy Management Plan and the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009. The inclusion of personal information in your submission is voluntary. The information will ultimately be stored in Council’s records system.
